The FDA(USFDA) is responsible for protecting and promoting public health through the control and supervision of food safety, tobacco products, dietary supplements, prescription and pharmaceutical drugs, vaccines, biopharmaceuticals, blood transfusions, medical devices, electromagnetic radiation emitting devices (ERED), cosmetics, animal foods & feed and veterinary products.

USFDA Registration is mandatory for all food business operators to export to USA. USFDA has come out with FSMA (Food Safety Modernisation Act) to monitor import in US from Foreign Suppliers effective from January 2018.

These Foreign Supplier and are subject to FSVP (Foreign Supplier Verification Program) implemented by FSPCA. These manufacturer exporters to US Markets must implement FSMA with their existing HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRC Food, IFS or SQF systems and certifications.

All food, dietary supplements exporting to US of willing to export to US are subjected to USFDA registration and USFDA Inspection as per cGMP requirements laid down in 21CFR for USFDA registration and USFDA Inspection.
